SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Jan. 27, 2021 — Hayden AI Technologies, Inc. (“Hayden AI”) is proud to announce that it has been selected as a finalist for the City Architecture for Tomorrow Challenge (CATCH), a major global city planning competition organized by Toyota Mobility Foundation and co-developed by Deloitte Future of Mobility Solution Centre.

Hayden AI Selected by Toyota Mobility as Finalist for City Architecture for Tomorrow Challenge!

CATCH was launched in February 2020 with a global call for “dynamic, intelligent and data-driven solutions to address mobility and city planning challenges” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s largest city. The challenge inspired over 90 global teams of entrepreneurs, startups, academic and research institutions, and innovators to reimagine and design future city infrastructures through dynamic, intelligent, data-driven, and connected solutions.

Hayden AI was shortlisted among six finalists out of 16 semi-finalists for its artificial intelligence-powered data platform that helps innovative cities to improve traffic safety and efficiency. The company will receive $125,000 for MVP development and access to datasets from CATCH’s private and public agency partners.

Chris Carson, Co-Founder and CEO of Hayden AI, said, “We are working hard to deliver solutions that make a positive difference in cities around the world, and it’s been a pleasure to participate in CATCH to deploy our AI-powered mobility solution in Kuala Lumpur. Through bus lane enforcement, we are aiming to reduce congestion and emission, while enabling equitable mobility for all the city’s residents. We are pleased to be selected as a finalist, and we appreciate the organizers for their efforts to execute a well-planned event, despite the prevailing pandemic.”

In making the announcement of the finalists, Pras Ganesh, Director of Programs of TMF commented: “CATCH was designed to grasp ground breaking innovations, and we were impressed by the ideas of 16 strong Semi Finalists who showcased new data driven mobility and city planning focused solutions. Though it was very difficult to narrow down the selection, as Toyota Mobility Foundation, we are very excited about the six Finalists and what they can deliver in the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) stage to improve the quality of life of the residents of Kuala Lumpur.”

Hayden AI will continue to work with TMF and its partners, including Kuala Lumpur’s City Hall, Malaysia’s Digital Economy Corporation, and its data partners, to enhance the company’s vision-based mobility solution. The company aims to ultimately deploy its solution in Kuala Lumpur, utilizing the city’s existing transportation fleet to automate bus lane enforcement, thereby improving traffic flow efficiency.
